Good bye Dude Ranch and hello Yellowstone

We met these five little guys when we arrived at the ranch and when we left they were soaring!

It was hard to say goodbye!

We found tons of Elk by the time we left Yellowstone!

We were so excited when we saw our first Bison in Yellowstone!

We were soooo excited to meet up with G and G and the twins. This was the first time we had been away from them and we missed them so much! G+ G were so brave to for one keep them for us for the week and two to drive them from California to Yellowstone by themselves!

Rodeo

We went into Jackson to watch my first rodeo! Tim participated in one when we lived in Spokane and won!

This was a late start and we were pretty tired but this was very entertaining!

Conner went out with as you can see tons of kids to try to catch the 3 sheep! It was too cute and he had so much fun!

Lunch and cowboy games on the river

Our last ride and I was definitely on an Advance ride. Our wrangler was pretty cool! We were able to lope through the water several times! Irv, my horse took off! On our trip back up the river he thought he was on a mission, racing the other horses and passing them. I couldn't contain my excitement! I had such a great time! People heard my yelling, "This is awesome!" and "yahoooo!"

One of our stops we saw two bald eagles!

We all met at the river's edge and had a cookout for lunch!

Check out this view from the ridge! After this stop we went to a special open field area that was like a race track. We pretended there was a wagon in the middle and we were going to circle the wagon. It was crazy!!!! My horse, Irv, again thought he HAD to come in first place and he most definitely did! That was beyond awesome! I was just holding on! :0)

An afternoon off

The horses had an extra rest! We headed into Jackson hole for a little bit of shopping and then back into the Tetons for a hike around Jenny Lake.

We wanted to make it back to the ranch for dinner ( the chef was amazing.....the food was fantastic!!). So we opted to take the boat across the lake and then hike up to the waterfalls and back to the car! 

The night before we stayed up and watch the metor shower! The sky out there is Amazing to begin with and then shooting stars everywhere was so perfect! This night we had another show in the sky! We watched as the storm rolled in! One of the owners of the ranch said they haven't seen a show like that since he was born! It was crazy cool!

The kids bought one of the jelly belly games that have flavors like rotten egg, dog food, vomit........they had fun!

Day 5 on the ranch

What a beautiful morning

The kids did their own thing this day! All the kids ride together which is lots of fun for them. The kids went out on a morning ride then they came back and had lunch. In the afternoon, their wranglers took them to the river to swim and play games! 

Tim and I went on an all day "walking" ride. I was still able to get a few trots in though!  Usually, we trot a bunch and get in some loping as well but since the horses were going to be carrying us ALL day we weren't suppose to be making them work any extra. PLUS we did some steep climbing! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL! These pictures certainly do not do this place justice!

You have to hunt down your horse after the breaks because they like to wonder off as they eat!

Funny story.......So I for sure thought something would happen to me by the end of the week. Well, this is the day! At one of our stops I was dismounting and somehow my shirt got stuck on the horn and there was no way I could pull myself up to unhook myself. I just hung there. I was for sure my shirt would rip and I would go topless the rest of the trip. As I hung there tying to not be obvious, I tried to think and pray myself out of this situation. I quietly called for Tim ( my back was to everyone and I didn't know where he was). After hanging there someone noticed and asked me if i needed help. Two guys let me step on their hands to unhook. It was pretty funny!
